XD Gun Parts hard chrome plating is extremely wear resistant and offers excellent rust protection. It is very hard, measuring between 66 to 70 HRC. All surfaces are equally plated with micro-smooth hard chrome that allows for a natural low friction surface that creates lubricity resulting in smoother and faster gun operation. Hard chrome plating permeates the microscopic surface of the base metal creating 100% bonding characteristics that will not allow for any chipping, flaking or separation from the base metal.
